Jenny Swan, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy

About Me
Dr. Jenny Swan is a passionate and skilled physical therapist based in Los Angeles, California. She studied Exercise Science at the University of Texas at Austin and earned her clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Touro College of Health Sciences in New York, graduating with honors.

Dr. Swan spent two years training in the Intensive Model of Treatment for children with brain injuries and neurological disorders at Napa Center LA, where she gained extensive experience in various modalities of therapy, along with a multidisciplinary approach to care, regularly collaborating with occupational and speech therapists.

Jenny is a formerly competitive runner who credits a steady yoga practice and interval-based strength training for keeping her grounded, present, and strong in her practices. She has lived in Switzerland (2014) as an au pair and in Spain (2021) as an in-home infant therapist.

Treatment Approach
My practice specializes in pediatric home care with a specialty focus on infancy and early childhood.
I am able to bring the highest quality of service and care to children in the natural environment of their home.
I believe this is where they feel most safe and comfortable, and this is where they are able to make the most progress.
Dynamic Movement Intervention
My expertise lies in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), a comprehensive therapy technique used to evoke new neuronal connections in infants and children with motor delay and disability. DMI is a style of pediatric therapy that incorporates a highly skilled handling technique with a very specific set of exercises to facilitate novel motor responses that optimize neurodevelopment.

I am certified at the Introductory Level C level, training primarily under Rebecca Weiss, PT and Master Instructor, as well as Jake Kreindler, PT and Founder of DMI.

Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation
I incorporate Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) into sessions to improve muscle tone, strength, and posture in my clients. I have studied under Judy Carmick and Susan Hastings. I have seen excellent results utilizing e-stim with pediatric stroke survivors, infants with hypotonia, and children with cerebral palsy, among other patient populations.
Services
My practice includes high-risk infants, babies and toddlers with motor delay, as well as children and teens with orthopedic conditions, genetic diagnoses, and neurological disorders.
